DCI to celebrate 31 years of drum corps in So Cal at the “The Riverside Show!”
Did someone say drum corps? In Southern California? Then it must be time for the “Western Corps Connection,” often referred to as the “Riverside Show,” to be held at Riverside City College on Monday, July 5! This is your chance to experience a tradition that dates back to 1980 – that of a big sound in a small box, RCC’s intimate Wheelock Stadium being the ideal place to ‘feel the sound’ up close and personal.
It’s still the best bargain in pageantry, a reserved seat for only $20 or $25 and you get to enjoy 11 competing drum corps, plus an exhibition group AND parking is still FREE! The best plan of attack is to enter the multi-level parking structure off of Magnolia and then walk towards the north side exit. This puts spectators right in to the corps vendor area and food court. Grab a souvenir or a cold drink and then head for your reserved seat.
Still looking for a ticket to the show? Just arrive early and purchase your ticket from the on-site ticket area, located at the back corner of the stadium. HEADS UP: the regular ticket booth at the stadium will not be used this year, due to the Wheelock Gymnasium renovation project. Instead, for this one time only, all ‘at the gate’ ticket sales will be handled from the back-side west entrance – which is the one nearest the multi-level parking structure. Look for the RCC Band equipment trailer and you’ll find the ticket selling area AND ‘will call.’
There are still plenty of seats available! The ticket booths – for credit & cash purchases – and for pre-purchased
will call tickets will open at 4pm, with the show starting at 5:30pm. This is it! This is your chance to see the 13-time DCI World Champion Concord Blue Devils and the Santa Clara Vanguard battle it out in a small stadium!
Don’t let this chance pass you by!
